For five and a half decades now people of J&k have been voicing their dis satisfactions against their own country of India. Efforts of every government to make them less paranoid have proved futile. Finally after 56yrs of Kashmiri independence(Kashmir got independence in 1951 when the nizam of Kashmir decided to join India after considering the options of staying independent and joining Pakistan) eminent personalities are speaking in favour of the their independence or rather supporting plebiscite. By the current events it really looks both are the same.
Amarnath land issue which started with minor protests has now spiralled into a very serious issue
"Should India let go kashmir ?" should India cut itself off a state which has shown little gratitude to the Indian hand for the last half a century? People like Arundhati Roy and Swaminathan A. Iyer talk in the affirmative and they have a good reason. Kashmiris could never consider India theirs .They might have their own reasons but is it right to consider a country which has lifted its poverty levels from worst in India to best in India thier enemy, the country which has prevented them from the fundamentalism of Pakistan, the country which has stressed its education need better than many of its states. The country which has shown no double standards between them and the other Indian states?Kashmirs even after being Indians were seen voicing serious anti Indian slogans. Wishing India lots of misfortune. Why cant they be peaceful? Why cant they take government to court? Such questions have been asked since the last 50 yrs now. May be the time has come to consider their independence or even grant them that. But I prefer Government should deal with the blockade of jammu Kashmir highway with an iron fist and then bring the kasmiri leaders to the table. Should allow them referendum, but after a fixed time may be 2yrs and should try all their best to woo them till them- by making them count what they could have been without India and what they are now.
what do you think should be the solution to this problem.

Undoubtedly, the Kashmir problem is one of the largest faced by India in the recent decades.Like any other Indian state, the agitations and the rebellions by the people here have been a result of the pivotal role by the narrowmindedness of political groups...until and unless the youth is employed and has better things to do, we cant expect them to stop the antisocial activities...it is also an established fact that most of the activities are done by the local residents and not by the infiltrants as is the popular note hyped by the government...i think that seperating Kashmir is obviously not a solution by any means...it would create a problem for the people in the valley as well as for india...just like the Bangladeshi people were tortured by the Pakistanis before their independence, same can be expected in Kashmir...and such disturbances would be further problematic for India...The security would also be breached to a larger extent(the cover of Himalayas and all that)...We dont give a child a knife to play if he importunes for it...we should do the same now and do what is required at the grassroot level...
